You are what you Tweet

in Spammer,twitter

So as I was watching the tweetstream one day I noticed a user that was posting upwards of 200+ tweets a day, and not a single one had an @ to a human being on them. Sure, I could have just looked the other way and went on my business, but I thought let me just send this “person” and I use that term loosely a message stating that spamming was not appreciated. Here are the chain of her responses.
My newest Fan

So what do you think about this community member? Is this someone that you would enjoy sitting across a table and having a nice discussion? I am going to take a pass on that one. It appears that she lacks a basic brain to tweet filter. Important to note that shortly after I called her out on the spamming she abruptly stopped. Or did she just go an open a new account?

What are your thoughts? Was I wrong to call this user out? What do you do?

Update 9/28 @KristinSykes hasn’t updated her twitter in a week. I wonder who she’s spamming now? Maybe she went back to Facebook or Myspace. Watch for updates

Update 10/14 – KristinSykes account has been suspended- We will all miss her dearly…..Yeah not so much!

Well, First if a person is Spamming then you have the right to address the issue.. Now lets move on.. She has the right to say what she said due to the fact that people have forgotten that Twitter is a Micro Blogging application.. Last time I checked a Blog is a Blog.. Dude, I caught myself about to explain what you already know! So moving on, if you don’t like it don’t “follow”. So in this case you both have the right to do what you wanted to do.. You both got feedback so there is no issue.. When you criticize some one don’t expect them to “oh yeah thank you for saying I am wrong or what I am doing is bad thanks a lot” You are a grown man and already know most people don’t care to listen to you if they don’t know you! Who are you to them.. No one!… So it was what it was!

I thought your blog post was going to be on some highground around the substance of ‘man’ and twittersheep perhaps. What possesed you to even engage and continue engaging. I love that you blogged this. Regards
