Dear Pepsi and Walmart of the East Valley in Phoenix AZ (specifically Gilbert and Queen Creek), I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you.
Thank you for removing the liquid to which I have become addicted, Diet Pepsi Vanilla.
Thank you for showing that you care about me as a human being.
Thank you for removing the evil liquid which is Diet Pepsi Vanilla from my easy reach.
Thank you for enlightening me on the evil path of destruction that I was headed down, drinking sometimes 6-10 cans of Diet Pepsi Vanilla a day.
Thank you for saving my life, kidney and other vital organs from the poison which I now realize is Diet Pepsi Vanilla.

I was determined to get my Diet Pepsi Vanilla fix but the Regional Manager of Walmart made the wonderful decision stop stocking DPV and to stock more Diet Pepsi Lime and Cherry (which thankfully I can not stand)

I gave up a good fight. I tweeted numerous times to @pepsi and got no response. #Social Media FAIL
I called the 800# on the can and talked to a helpful representative that confirmed for me that Walmart decided not to carry Diet Pepsi Vanilla in my area.
The representative even went out of his way to find out which store carries it near my house. He told me that Albertsons carried it.

So then I begin an online search to find my DPV. And here it is on eBay $5.69 a 12 pack, plus shipping. I am going to have to pass. Off to Albertson’s I go….

As I walked down the aisle looking to get my DPV fix in Albertsons, I started thinking “maybe the universe is trying to tell me something” …Forget that I am going to get my DPV now. As I picked up the 12 pack and started thinking about how great that DPV was going to be. It was at that point that I looked at the price, 40% higher than at Walmart. I looked around the aisle and found Diet Dr. Pepper on sale 3 for $8. Then I begin to question my diet drink addiction. As I quickly run through the 12 steps there in the aisle, I decide that the message is clear- STOP DRINKING DIET SODA NOW!

So while some people may say that big companies don’t care about their customers, clearly Walmart and Pepsi both have my best interest at heart.

Thank you

Update- Sept 3 2009- I got several DM’s and messages from @Pepsi today, very helpful- told me to call the Walmart store manager, which I did today- We will see how that works out, I am cautiously optimistic.

Update Sept 5 – This may be a total shocker, but Regina the “Asst Manager” at Wal Mart has not called me back yet #WalMartFail
