Let’s be clear on one thing, I have no issues with people marketing on the internet. But what I do take issue with are scum sucking parasites that have invaded Twitter that just post affiliate links, have zero interaction and add no value. They don’t create content, share content (other than their affiliate links, teeth whitening for $5 and other crap) or even bother to interact with people. By and large these folks just set up automated tweets and watch the suckers click on the links. Do the Twitter community a favor and report at least one of these scumbags a day. So who named me the “Twitter Hall Monitor”? No one, I just hate to see Twitter devolve into this slimy den of internet marketers. Please post your comments below.
1. Your Link on your profile is a shortened URL- that points right to some spammy affiliate site

2. You send @messages to people trying to get our attention with your spammy links
3. You have never sent a single @ message in your twitter life.

Bravo! Hey, I’m happy with you as Hall Monitor.
I’ve had to do a ton of unfollowing lately, but what’s really bad is that I have had to block a number of people who have never followed me. They just like to comment on something I said about a business topic with an unrelated request to either show me their (non-Twitter, NSFW) profile, or invite me to check out a link to something that someone else wants to sell me.
But we should all be reminded that Twitter is a free service. Last I checked.
Absolutely agree on the free service point, however FB is also free and yet not nearly the magnet for Internet marketing mavens/gurus and affiliate links galore (or maybe it is I honest spend very little time on FB- it’s the games and quizzes that drive me away) I will say that of the spammers that I have sent a DM to @spam, approximately 80% of them end up suspended. Thanks for your comment, much appreciated.
I personally enjoy the rants when you have had to deal with a few of these…I don’t have the volume that you do, so I don’t have the problem so much. I also agree with admin that the FB quizzes get on my last nerve. Good post, Scott!
Thanks for the feedback Karen. While I have a tendency to go on a rant against spammers, I have also tried in vain to ignore them. I find that I do okay for a period of time but since their methods are constantly morphing I find myself getting pulled back in. Appreciate you taking the time to comment.
