Twitter Lists are the new currency in Social Media

Twitter is buzzing about twitter lists. How many lists are you on? How many lists have you created? I have to admit that I have been lagging on creating lists.

Take Twitter add lists and you have a recipe for the new social media currency. Until the point at which everyone begins selling programs on how to become the most listed person on Twitter for a mere $29.97 after attending a “free webinar” which is free until they give you a “special” website to order NOW NOW NOW! Let’s just all watch how quickly this Listmania turns into another opportunity for the internet marketing scum to crawl out of their holes and pedal their wares.

I wonder how quickly Facebook will launch their version of Lists

You may have noticed I have turned into a bad blogger- at least on this blog. Since I started using posterous I have moved a lot of my blogging activities over there.

You are what you Tweet

So as I was watching the tweetstream one day I noticed a user that was posting upwards of 200+ tweets a day, and not a single one had an @ to a human being on them. Sure, I could have just looked the other way and went on my business, but I thought let me just send this “person” and I use that term loosely a message stating that spamming was not appreciated. Here are the chain of her responses.

So what do you think about this community member? Is this someone that you would enjoy sitting across a table and having a nice discussion? I am going to take a pass on that one. It appears that she lacks a basic brain to tweet filter. Important to note that shortly after I called her out on the spamming she abruptly stopped. Or did she just go an open a new account?

What are your thoughts? Was I wrong to call this user out? What do you do?

Update 9/28 @KristinSykes hasn’t updated her twitter in a week. I wonder who she’s spamming now? Maybe she went back to Facebook or Myspace. Watch for updates

Update 10/14 – KristinSykes account has been suspended- We will all miss her dearly…..Yeah not so much!
